Durabuilt Dudes Raise Over $16000.00 for MOvember

4 weeks ago, 52 members of the Durabuilt Dudes donated the real-estate above their upper lips in the name of Men’s Health and Prostate Cancer Awareness. It resulted in over $16,000.00 raised and the team ranked in the top 150 out of the 30,000 teams participating nationally (at the time of this release).

Based in Edmonton, the employees of Durabuilt Windows & Doors, known as the Durabuilt Dudes were not only busy in the office and plant manufacturing windows and doors but were also proudly growing their moustaches in every shape and design imaginable.

“We discussed participating for a couple of years, but we really wanted to make an impact- and for our first year we’re very happy with what we have accomplished,” says Vice President, Harry Sunner. “We had 52 participants and exceeded our initial fundraising goal substantially. The response from all of our staff, building partners, dealers and suppliers has been exceptional!”

Watch the video, as some of the Durabuilt Dudes have their MO's shaved on the Dan and Jamie morning show on 95.7 Lite FM.

  • Unrivaled quality and performance on window and door products
  • Industry best lead times

  • A a company that is focused on your needs - every day, on every project

What Does IMS Certification Mean for You and Our Customers?
As the first window and door manufacturer in Canada to achieve IMS Certification, this is a strong testament to our commitment, longevity and relevance in the industry. IMS is a tremendous achievement for our organization and staff, but more importantly it speaks to the type of company and Durabuilt is today and who we will be tomorrow.

Why Did We Do This?
IMS is a top down systematic approach guided by the principal that if the proper systems are in place, quality and exceptional customer service will follow. Durabuilt’s fully Integrated Management System has enabled us to improve everything we do from how we support our distribution partners, to the number of windows we produce.

Already focused on LEAN production practices and continuous improvement, it became clear that IMS Certification was the next logical step. Following international trends and best practices, IMS is another assurance to you and your customers that you are dealing with a world class partner.

What Improvements Have We Made?
Over the past four years, Durabuilt has been improving all aspects of our operation, but some of the highlights include:

Quality

  • Every customer order is followed up with a customer survey, resulting in a 90% satisfaction level – a 10% increase from 2009 and 34% increase from 2008.
  • Improved response across the organization – all customer inquiries and requests must be responded to within 24 hours.
  • Industry leading delivery times consistently four days faster than the average; a direct result of 99.9% on-time product completion ratios.

Environmental

  • 47% overall waste reduction in our facility between 2009 and 2010; new recycling initiatives such as using PVC regrind to produce product protectors.
  • Reduced fleet, improved logistics and routing and electrical conservation practices that have substantially reduced our already low environmental imprint.

Health & Safety

  • Improved employee retention and pride of workmanship with only one lost day injury in 2010.
