Durabuilt Windows & Doors’ story is an exciting one, written by a family of entrepreneurs and their dedicated team, who turned a small window and door shop into one of the largest privately held manufacturing companies in western Canada. Hard work, dedication, and above all else a customer-focused attitude, has shaped Durabuilt into the company it is today. Here are some important milestones during our journey:


     
   

Durabuilt celebrates 25 Years of business.
March 2013

As Durabuilt celebrates their 25th silver anniversary, they are reminded of how they have grown from a one room shop with less than a dozen employees, to becoming one of Western Canada's largest privately owned window and door manufacturers. With an 180,000 sq.ft facility of talent and technology featuring sophisticated robotics, and automation, Durabuilt still embraces that old-world attention to detail, quality and craftsmanship that they have been built on.

Durabuilt launches new branding identity and tagline "all about you".
March 2013

Durabuilt conducted extensive market analysis, listened to their employees, distribution partners and connected with our endusers to identify what makes Durabuilt unique. The results were impeccable and after two years, Durabuilt’s image and new tagline “all about you” represents the Durabuilt of today and the Durabuilt of tomorrow.

Durabuilt joins the ranks of one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies.
February 2013

Durabuilt’s success and recognition as one of Canada's Best Managed Companies is a result of multiple principles coming together: aculture of commitment; a diversified business model that includes a refined infrastructure, solid back end processes and a strong western Canadian presence; and complete customer service resources ensuring Durabuilt’s branches and dealers are part of the communities they serve. Of these principles, aculture to customer commitment has been the biggest factor in the company's success- captured in the new brand’s tagline- ‘all about you.’

2012

Durabuilt launches the industry’s first window that features a 5 Seal Defense System designed with five seals over the standard three that delivers the ratings of a “fixed” window on an operating casement. The 5 Seal Defense System is now exclusively part of our Hybrid Window Collection.

2011

Durabuilt becomes the first and only window and door manufacturer in Canada to achieve IMS (Integrated Management Systems) certification. This was an important milestone that was earned and celebrated by all 400 staff members of the Durabuilt team.

2010

Durabuilt continues to innovate with new products such as the maintenance-free Everlast Composite Door Frame, the Eclipse Aluminum Cladded Door and the exclusive launch of European inspired X-Drive hardware on all Durabuilt casement & awning windows.

Durabuilt also officially opens a Design Gallery in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

     

 

  


2009

Durabuilt Windows & Doors opens a Design Gallery in Calgary, Alberta.

 



2008

Durabuilt is recognized for the first time on the Window & Door Magazine’s Top 100 North American Manufacturers listing. Durabuilt has maintained and grown our position on this list year over year since.

2007

Durabuilt launches DuraQuote 2.0 a proprietary ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning) system that fully integrates sales, planning and production cycles.

Durabuilt also opens a Design Gallery in Lethbridge, Alberta.


 


2005-2006

Durabuilt launches the industry’s first and only tribrid product featuring an aluminum exterior, PVC interior and wood interior; the Tri-Bridex window series is still exclusively offered by Durabuilt in 2012.

Our ICF and proprietary X-Treme J series designed exclusively for new home construction are both launched.


                                            

 
                                                

2004

Durabuilt moves into its fifth and current head office location at 10920 178 St in the westend of Edmonton on January 15, 2004. Today our head office has been expanded to include 180,000 sq.ft. of production space that features sophisticated robotics from around the world.

The redesigned Hybridex 910 was also launched adding reinforcing capabilities and improved water evacuation to achieve superior performance results. The system was deployed in both residential and semi-commercial applications. 


 

2003                        

Durabuilt Windows & Doors was recognized with the Consumers’ Choice Award within the window and door category in Edmonton, and has maintained this achievement every year since.

Durabuilt also launched the first true Hybrid (PVC/Aluminum) window system of its kind in the western Canadian market – Hybridex 900 was born.

     

 

2002

Durabuilt moves into its fourth location and manufacturing facility that totaled 60,000 sq.ft. and opens its doors to a second southside Design Gallery location in Edmonton.

 


 

  

1998

Durabuilt grew again and moved into our third 26,000 sq.ft. location as well expanded our offering to include exterior doors. Durabuilt Window Systems Inc. becomes Durabuilt Windows & Doors Inc. (as its known today).


 

 

1994-1996

The Sunner family became the sole owners of Durabuilt and began producing PVC windows manually by hand with 12 employees in their new 10,000 sq.ft space.

 

 
 

  


1988

Durabuilt Windows Systems Inc. was incorporated in Alberta and operating from its first 3,000 sq.ft. location.
